Rock n' Roll Poster Art

Happy Sunday everyone!

Yesterday was a great day full of art show posters and album artwork. The San Rafael Rocks Block Party was a few legendary and some up-and-coming poster artists selling their art and some old posters from their collection. I purchase an original Foo Fighters show poster from 1995  signed by the artist, Chris Shaw, for only $20!!!! So stoked.

After the festival, I went to the San Francisco Art Exchange for the Stanley Mouse exhibit opening night. It was so cool to see some original artwork for bands such as Journey, the Grateful Dead, LED ZEPPELIN and many more. Funny story about Stanley Mouse, I once had the privilege of having him in my art studio. There is a photo of Stone Gossard of Pearl Jam circa 1990 on the wall reminding us to turn off the heater. Mr. Mouse looks at the photo and says "Who's that lady?". Stone Gossard is a man, not a lady...

Ended the night celebrating friend Alexa's birthday with her belting some jams out at the Paper Mill with her tremendous voice.

Go see art, go live art!!!

Happy Birthday 'Merica!

Hello and Happy 4th of July!

This weekend I am working on a piece taken from the 1936 photograph by Dorothea Lange, "Migrant Mother". The piece is for an upcoming show with the theme Hard Times on August 7th. Details at: https://www.facebook.com/events/1463760503938490

Last Thursday I went to see a 2-piece band called Shovels and Rope. They are FANTASTIC! The band is a couple from South Carolina with a very stripped down, yet full Americana/rock sound. Trying to go see them again this Monday because the female member is pregnant and they won't be touring much after the little one arrives.

Hope y'all have a fun weekend!!

Art Supplies and Steel Panther

Morning!

If you're looking for a great sale on art supplies and you're in the Santa Rosa area, Rileystreet Art Supply is the place this weekend! I've just bought my haul for the next few months.

On an entirely different topic, went to see Steel Panther last night at the Regency in SF. There was a lot of spandex, eyeliner and big hair...some of the chicks were dressed up too! Highly entertaining and perfect for anyone who can easily find their mind in the gutter.

Have a lovely weekend everyone!
